Upload Unleashed Firmware
The last steps are uploading the unleashed firmware onto the access point. This will flash the firmware and completely delete everything else in the AP.
Step 0: Log in to the access point
If you haven’t done so, log into the AP from web browser.
Step 1: Go to upgrade menu
Maintenance > Upgrade
Now click Upgrade on the left navigation menu.
Step 2: Go to local
Switch Upgrade Method to Local.
Click choose file under local file name. Select the firmware file you have downloaded for the AP in earlier step. Then hit Perform Upgrade button.
Step 3: Wait…
Now be patient and wait for the upgrade to take place.
This process will take a few minutes. You do not need to refresh browser yet.
Once you see the message above, hit close on right bottom corner.
Depending on the timing you click, you may see screen as above. Overall, this process does really take a few minutes. So be patient.
After 5 minutes… I’ve decided to click reload. That didn’t work for me with access denied page error.
Step 4: Access admin menu again
Since simple reload of the page did not work for me, I closed the page and typed in the https://[ip address of the AP] in the browser from scratch again.
I have then seen Unleashed installation screen.
If you want to do more custom configuration, you can click on custom install. However, I personally think it’s better to just go with Quick Install at this stage and configure/customize later.
Tips
- If you want Unleashed mode of operation, be sure to confirm the AP you are purchasing supports Unleashed.
- Download correct firmware i.e. correct version as well as model number.
