Reddit user has yet again found two more FCC filed Wi-Fi 6 UniFi Access Points (AP). This type it is newer version of In wall unit and long range unit.
U6LR
- Wi-Fi 6
- Wide-Range
- Aggregate radio rate up to 2.7 Gbps
- 4×4 MU-MIMO and OFDMA on 5 GHz
- 2×2 MIMO on 2.4 GHz
- 80 MHz cap
Reference: FCC U6-LR
Based on aggregate speed, I believe 2.4 GHz band remains Wi-Fi 5 version with 300 Mbps limit because 80 MHz 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 PHY speed peaks at 2401 Mbps. Although SmallNetBuilder showed 2.4 GHz band was where the biggest improvement seen from WiFi 5 to WiFi 6, those who are going after throughput use 5 GHz band anyways so for keeping cost down, this is the design decision by UniFi.
U6IW
- Wi-Fi 6
- In-Wall Access Point
- 4 Gigabit Ethernet Port with one of which being PoE passthrough
- Aggregate radio rate up to 2.7 Gbps
- 4×4 MU-MIMO and OFDMA on 5 GHz
- 2×2 MIMO on 2.4 GHz
- 80 MHz cap
Based on the aggregate speed, once again similar to U6LR, 2.4 GHz band on this device is also 300 Mbps.
Vs. UAP-6-L
In contrast to the first WiFi 6 compatible AP from UniFi, UAP-6-L, these two units have 4×4 MU-MIMO on 5 GHz band. However, one must remember majority of mobile client devices are 2×2 so it is unlikely to see any significant difference in speed between UAP-6L and these two units for single device. However, two units simultaneous peak speed and beam steering may show some/a little boost in an appropriate setting.
